The Basset Hound Shop (TM) Terms & Conditions (T&C's) Framework.
Acceptance of Terms and Governing Law
1.1. These Terms and Conditions govern the sale of all products (including custom/bespoke items and third-party accessories) sold by The Basset Hound Shop TM (The Company, We, Us) via our website [www.thebassethoundshop.co.uk]. By placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
1.2. The contract between you and The Company shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
2. Custom and Bespoke Item Policy (Marie and Me Handmade Goods)
2.1. Bespoke Nature: Items branded 'Marie and Me' (including Coats, Drool Defence System, Blankets, and Bandanas) are handmade to order. Products may feature minor, unique variations that are inherent to the custom crafting process. These variations do not constitute a fault or defect.
2.2. Measurement Responsibility: The customer is solely responsible for providing accurate and complete measurements as per our published guides. We will craft the bespoke Marie and Me item to those precise measurements. The Company cannot accept returns, issue refunds, or provide free remakes for sizing errors resulting from incorrect measurements provided by the customer.
2.3. Cancellations: Orders for custom/bespoke 'Marie and Me' items may only be cancelled and refunded within 24 hours of the order being placed, provided work on sourcing materials or cutting fabric has not yet begun. After this period, custom orders are non-cancellable.
2.4. Production Times: The standard lead time for the creation and dispatch of custom 'Marie and Me' items is 4-6 weeks. This time is an estimate and not a guarantee.
3. Product Safety and Liability Disclaimer (The Basset Hound Shop TM)
3.1. Supervision and Use: All products sold by The Basset Hound Shop TM are intended for use as pet accessories. The customer is solely responsible for supervising their pet while using any of our products (including coats, collars, toys, and treats). Never leave a pet unattended with an accessory that could pose a choking or ingestion hazard.
3.2. Wear and Tear: It is the customer's responsibility to regularly inspect all products for signs of wear and tear, damage, or defect. We shall not be liable for damage caused by chewing, rough play, or misuse, and customers should always follow the specific care instructions provided for their 'Marie and Me' handmade items.
3.3. Limitation of Liability: Our liability for any claim arising from a product shall be limited to the purchase price of the product itself. We accept no liability for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use or misuse of our products.
4. Payment
4.1 Payment shall be made in full at the time of ordering for both non-custom stock items and bespoke items.
4. Returns and Refunds Policy
4.1. Non-Custom Stock Items (Toys, Bowls and other non-perishable items): Non-custom items may be returned within 30 days of receipt, provided the item is unused, in its original packaging, and in a re-saleable condition. The customer is responsible for the cost of return shipping.
4.2. 'Marie and Me' Custom Items (Coats, etc.): Custom and bespoke 'Marie and Me' items are non-returnable and non-refundable unless they are proven to be faulty or defective due to an error in our craftsmanship or materials. Returns will not be accepted based on change of mind, incorrect customer measurements, or general wear and tear.
4.3. Faulty Items: If an item is found to be faulty or defective, please contact us within 7 days of receipt. We reserve the right to either replace the item or issue a store credit to the value of the item upon verification of the fault.
4.4. Non-Returnable Items: For hygiene and safety, all food, treats, and personalised items are non-returnable.
5. Shipping and Fulfilment
5.1. Dispatch Time: We aim to dispatch stock items within 3-5 working days. Custom item dispatch follows the lead time stated in Clause 2.4.
5.2. Split Shipments: Due to our business model (combining handmade and drop shipped items), orders containing both 'Marie and Me' products and accessories may arrive in separate packages on different days.
5.3. International Orders: We do our best to source our products from the UK to avoid unnecessary and expensive import fees. However, in the event that a product is sourced internationally (which will be stated on the product page), the customer is responsible for all customs fees, import duties, and local taxes charged by their country. We are not responsible for delays caused by customs processing.
6. Intellectual Property
6.1. All original designs, including the Basset Hound Coat pattern, the 'Marie and Me' brand identity, website content, logos, text, and photography, are the intellectual property of The Basset Hound Shop TM and are protected by copyright and trademark law. 6.2. Unauthorised use, reproduction, or distribution of our designs or intellectual property without express written permission is strictly prohibited.
